Currently heading R&D department at Rauma Marine Constructions, Kyläkallio's ambition is to make ships and shipping more environmentally friendly, largely with the help of batteries and optimizing operations.

Preparing for the IMO NZF regulations by simulating energy consumption profiles and emission, retrofitting batteries and applying learnings from the current European FuelEU Maritime regulations. Simulation examples of how batteries can be retrofitted in an efficient way to existing vessels to make them economically viable for the next decades.
